Echoing the prior reviews, but they are not quite indestructible. Ours had parts of the base chip off near the center point, and metal WILL scratch it, especially over time.



It can be abused more than a regular non-stick, and is great for oil-free cooking. (Use veg stock instead to saute).



Ours lasted 6 years of heavy use, and we will replace it.

Okay, maybe I'm whining but I've had my Scanpan cookware for 15 years now and the coating is peeling off both my 2 quart saucepans. Also, my 10-inch and 12-inch saute pans are about as non-stick as a seasoned cast iron set I once had. I know Scanpan say they will make good on my peeling coating problem on the saucepans, but frankly it's hard for me to give up my cookware for whatever time it would take. I am currently looking at replacing my Scanpan set and sending what I have to Goodwill. I'm considering the heieracy mixing brands and/or materials with stainless steel and nonstick cookware.

This aluminum sauce pan has a high-quality Thermolon Endurance non-stick interior coating which is durable and highly scratch resistant. I read many reviews before settling on this one. I love it the moment I opened the box. I wanted to purchase All-Clad but it was a little over my budget. Then I read reviews about Emerilware and what some professional chefs say about it, and I decided to go for it. I have no regrets and intent to purchase more Emerilware. This is NOT All-Clad, but by All-Clad. Great pan overall!

 "Inferior to previous Emerilware saucepans" 2007-11-26

I received this 3 qt Emerilware saucepan from All-Clad after sending in my good 3/12 qt Emerilware saucepan under warantee. The nonstick coating was peeling. I bought the 3 1/2 qt and a 2 1/2 qt at the same time, about 3 years ago, each had a lifetime warantee. They were made in Korea, designed by All-Clad. The metal was heavy and solid, advertised as 5 mm.



The replacement pan (the sauce pan being reviewed) is stamped 3 qt (I returned a 3 1/2 qt), but is identical in dimensions to my older 2 1/2 qt Emerilware, except 12 ounces lighter (yes, LIGHTER than the pan marked 2 1/2 qt). The metal is thinner, perhaps nearly 1/2 as thick, and I would never have bought the sauce pan of that thickness. This pan is made in China.



I wouldn't buy this pan knowing what I know. I'd look for something heavier. And the lifetime warantee is no good to you, if they no longer make an item of the same quality as what you are returning. I feel cheated with little recourse.

This is a very good pan and is exactly as described. We were looking to replace a 12 inch fryer that the non-stick coating was starting to come off. Although the pan is not 12 inches round, the sides are not slooped like our last pan so the bottom size is about the same as the 12 inch pan. Also note the glass lid has a little hole for gas releaf. Cooking heat seems to be nicely spread out around the bottom, our old pan did not have the thick base to spread out the heat. Yes, things stick when cooking, but cleanup is easy.

I got these for Christmas last year and absolutely love them. They're comfortable, durable, and are excellent for cooking just about anything. DO NOT, however, use them in the dishwasher or use metal utensils with them, lest you scratch or otherwise mar them. (Of course this is a general rule you should follow with any quality item of cookware.) I found this site looking to see if they're oven-safe (I'm making yummy frittatas this morning), so we'll see if they are or not...

I've had my casserole for several weeks now and can say without reservation that it's the best large pot I've ever used. I've used it for everything from roasting vegetables in the oven to preparing meat sauces on the range without any problems. The heating characteristics are fantastic -- it heats quickly but quite evenly all across the base without discernible hot spots, and as the indications suggest, it transfers more heat than conventional pots and doesn't require quite as much gas to get up to temperature. As is often mentioned on reviews of other Calphalon One cookware, the surface isn't quite "non-stick" in the sense it would be with a Teflon coating; instead, it's very-low-stick, and once your meats have seared they'll release from the surface, often requiring only their natural oils for lubrication. Cleaning is extremely easy, though you certainly should take to heart the manufacturer's warning against using a dishwasher -- the detergents actually will destroy anodized aluminum (I've seen the results of this, and it's not pretty). Other than that, though, the finish has seemed very sturdy so far, although I can't yet speak to its long-term durability.

Ultimately, at the price Amazon charges now, I doubt you can buy anything close to this in quality. I'm not sure that the full retail price is justified, as the Calphalon Commercial line of non-infused anodized aluminum would perform similarly for many purposes.

I have been using Berndes cookware since the day I bought my first piece at a sale my local hardware store was having. They had one of the traditions 9 1/2 fry pan with lid for practically nothing. I took it home and was blown away by the quality and durability of this little pan. I then looked on the web and discovered they were of reasonably high value. I ordered a few more pieces from Amazon and eventually threw out all of my Calphalon and other cookware. I have my family and friends in the process of converting to Berndes also (one skillet as a Christmas gift is all it takes).

You simply are not going to find better cookware in this price range.

Don't waste money on Calphalon, W.Puck, Pampered Chef, or any other cookware in the High-end consumer range. Just buy Berndes and be happy.

I had been evaluating cookware sets on the internet and pricing them at the local "box" shops for almost a year. I had used a Circulon set for almost 12 years and it was really showing alot of wear.

This is very well made cookware. The clean up is increadibly easy inside and out and because the outside of the pans are also non-stick they will look good for years to come. I really like the glass lids and the fact that while the cookware is well-made the pans are not so heavy that you feel you need to two hands to move them.

I just purchased this set through Amazon and am very pleased. They are very heavy and appear to be sturdy. Although I've only used them once, I am very happy with the quality.



My only negative comment would be the knobs are stainless steel and therefore get hot. The literature states they have Phenolic knobs (heat-resistant) and I would appreciate it if someone would let me know how they can be replaced.



I'm looking forward to years of service with this high-quality cookware set.

I returned a pan set that I purchased on Amazon because the bottoms were leaving white residue. I ordered these as a replacement as a gold box item. I was heistant as there were no reviews at that time. I am glad that I made the purchase. These are very high quality pans that make cooking fun! The handles are a nice length and the lids have nice size nobs. Be sure to have a philips screw driver upon arrival as you will need to assemble the lids. They also tell you how to care for your pans and instructions upon first use that ensure longevity. I own an electrical stove and they cook very evenly on my stove! With this being the case, I am sure it would do amazing on a gas stove. Product was packaged very well and shipping was quick. I am having a very positive experience with this product!

I absolutely love these pans. I've owned numerous sets over the years, none compare to the Berndes, not even close. They cook even, perfect for my glass top due to the flat bottoms, and clean up is amazing! Inside and out, cleaning is a breeze. My mother-in-law had one small skillet that was a Berndes, that's how I knew about them. I went on-line to find them. Actually would've paid substantially more on e-Bay. Was glad I found them on Amazon. Wonderful value, the lids are great, overall a beautiful set. No complaints at all.
