I bought this to replace my Anolon hard-anodized 3.5 qt pot that I'd given to my boyfriend. I thought the slightly smaller size would be nice... which I'm sure it would be if I kept this pot. However, the lid on this is very loose and rattly. The lid on my Anolon pourer is so snug and beautiful that I just can't bring myself to keep this one. I'm sending it right back and replacing my lovely Anolon with another Anolon.

The point of this pan is the pour spout, and the most important thing about it is that it not drip. I gave it to my daughter for Christmas and her report is that it has never come close to dripping. Pours like a charm. It's also very well-designed and well-made, and heats evenly. Now I want one. A detail: we sent back the non-stick one and ordered one that isn't coated, but that's personal preference.

I recently received a few other pieces of cookware from this line, which prompted me to order this pot. I can only say that I love it! It is very well made, has great heft and feel and is the perfect size for cooking 2 lbs. of mussels:-).

As far as the lid goes, it fits fine and the glass lets you see what's going on. The perforation makes for a convenient way to drain pasta as well. All in all, a great pot.

This sauce pan came with several chips in the non-stick coating in the rim of the pot. Seller was kind enough to send me another pot, but it also had a chip in the rim of the pot. I don't know if it was sent out that way or the damage was done in mailing. Either way, it is my opinion that this is a cheaply made pot. I ordered one of these Proctor Silex pots a couple of months ago (1 qt size). It is a great little pot. The 1 qt size does not come with a lid, but I think the other sizes do (see descriptions of each). The inside is non-stick, and works really well. I just ordered two more, because I was so happy with the first one. I priced other pots similar to this and all were much more expensive, even in the department stores. All in all, a great pot!

I recently purchased this covered pan and am most pleased with it. The first reviewer stated that his pan arrived without a cover. I can state that my pan arrived with a cover. My cover was turned upside down on top of the pan. A circular cardboard was placed in it and a circular colored photo of the pan and cover was placed on top. All was then sealed in plastic. Anyone ordering this covered pan can be assured that it does come with a cover.

I was always a fan of Calphalon, but this product line is not only junk, it's a health risk. The non stick coating on these items can be scratched off with a fingernail. There is no way that should be possible. They state that you should only use wood, plastic, or nylon utensils (no metal) with these, but the fact is even plastic scratches the surface right off. Not only does this mean the cookware is junk, but it means you're eating the surface with your food because it's flaking off that easily as you cook things. I was beyond shocked when I saw the scratches after the first use, and then ran my fingernail over the surface and easily scraped off all this black powder. Calphalon needs to recall this entire line or they're going to be up against lawsuits for endangering people's health. I'm going to try to have Calphalon refund me for these, issue a recall, and then I'm buying some hard anodized cookware from Analon.

I received this as a bridal shower gift two and a half years ago. I think I have used it almost everyday since then! This is one of my favorite pieces of cookware. Great for heating up soup, making macaroni and cheese, boiling water for tea, heating up a jar of pasta sauce, boiling a few eggs. This pot cleans easily and I love the pouring spout and the lid with with strainer. After two years of nearly daily use, it's still in great shape. I recently purchased a second one as a birthday gift to my mother-in-law. Would definitely recommend.

I bought this pan for my mother, due to the easy pour spout. But I find I use it more than her. The pan is lightweight non stick and contrary to other reviews I love the cover. The cover also acts to drain your food, but you have to hold the cover while draining. I like the fact that the cover is not tight as I always have to tilt the cover of other pans when boiling pasta or potatos. Cuisinart wins again.

Perfect pot for pasta ... exterior finish is top-notch, and the strainer lid is fantastic. This is the only pot I use for Mac-n-cheese, and the only one I need. Nothing sticks to it, and the handle is both comfortable and clean. The handle has a hole for hanging it up, but the lid would probably have to be kept elsewhere. This is top-quality cookware designed to last.

I bought this saucepan in November 2008 to replace my 10+ year old saucepan bought at Costco. Cuisinart usually makes fairly decent kitchen wares. In this case not. The saucepan was much thinner than my old Costco cookware. It was touted as being sturdy enough to use metal cookware. Not. I threw the pan out yesterday after the nonstick was peeling off in chunks. I never used metal cookware in this pan. I used my silicone or plastic cooking utensils.



As to the thin pan. This pan is a lightweight pan that heats up quickly. It does not have a heavy bottom so food could scorch.



The only nifty feature about this pan was the strain and pour. Kind of handy but not needed for this size of pan as it would not normally be used to cook pasta. Perhaps sauces and vegetables.



By the way, the old Costco 2 quart saucepan is still cooking away...

After the very first use--the very first--the teflon coating is already peeling off exposing the steel below it. I made pasta in the pot and used a SOFT plastic spatula to gently stir it. After that there were already two spots where the coating had come completely off. Now I have used it about 5 times total and the coating looks like it has been scraped with a metal spatula hundreds of times. And no, I did not put it in the dishwasher. Not even once. I used a very soft plastic spatula and did not stir hard. I've had far better quality from an $7.99 pot purchased at a discount store. I seriously don't understand how the quality could be so poor and this company is still in business. Avoid this unless you want to eat teflon flakes with your pasta.

I have had two of these. The first was replaced after about two years under Calphalon's lifetime warranty. I used only nylon or plastic utensils, but the interior of the first one deteriorated rather quickly, becoming light gray instead of the original dark gray color. It's not like I was grinding away in the pot either. I just heat foods, boil things, etc., just simple cooking. I also have several items in the regular Calphalon Nonstick line, and one of those also lost its nonstick coating, and also was replaced for free. I don't know if other brands have more durable nonstick coatings, but I would look at them closely. Just because it is Calphalon, it is not necessarily superior to others.

I bought this pan to replace an old T-Fal one quart pan that was showing wear on its nonstick surface. This is a well made pan that performs as advertised. It is easy to clean and very useful. I consider it to be a good value for the price paid and would recommend it to anyone looking for a small saucepan. The lid is tempered glass, not metal. Some people mighrt find this objectionable but I don't. Also it is oven safe only to 375 degrees. This could be an issue for some people but I do not expect that I will ever put it in the oven.

There is no way that should be possible. They state that you should only use wood, plastic, or nylon utensils (no metal) with these, but the fact is even plastic scratches the surface right off. Not only does this mean the cookware is junk, but it means you're eating the surface with your food because it's flaking off that easily as you cook things. I was beyond shocked when I saw the scratches after the first use, and then ran my fingernail over the surface and easily scraped off all this black powder. Calphalon needs to recall this entire line or they're going to be up against lawsuits for endangering people's health. I'm going to try to have Calphalon refund me for these, issue a recall, and then I'm buying some hard anodized cookware from Analon.

This is a Cuisinart 1.5 qt pan and not a 3 like they are asking me to review, but anyway, I bought it from Amazon.com and I just love it. Lid fits niceley. Let some noodles over cook the other day that I was warming up and forgot!! They weren't burn't and were not stuck to the pan. Great pan. I already own several.

This Cuisinart 3 quart pan is wonderful. The high sides and capacity make it great for stir fry, etc. As advertised, is not heavy and the handle is not hot to the touch. I am very pleased.

As with other Calphalon cookware, this one is super. It cooks evenly, has no hot spots, and cleans with ease. The glass lid makes checking for doneness very easy. I wish I had known beforehand that commercial non-stick sprays are a NO-NO, as I had just stocked up on PAM sprays. A surprising use--making scrambled eggs for two. Because of the smaller diameter, as opposed to the 10" saute pan, the eggs come out more moist, and I can finish them with the lid that comes with the pan.

This is my favorite saucepan! All of my pans are Calphalon, but some are hard-anodized and I found that the non-stick is much better, so I am going to stick to the non-stick. Ha Ha. I have another 2-1/2 quart hard-anodized saucepan and this one is bigger, which makes it a true 2-1/2 quart pan. I love the extra room it provides and the curved design. The see-through lid is nice also. It's a winner!

I went with the Cook's Illustrated reviews of this skillet and am glad that I did. It handles every task well and its small size lets it take on other things, such as small scale steaming, that what it replaced just couldn't do. Quality pot, very good value for the money.
