Currently, the product page here at Amazon says "Tight fitting covers seal in flavors", which sounds to me like it's supposed to come with a lid, and it doesn't. It's a great pan, nevertheless. I love the 3-quart size. One thing that's a little annoying about it, but I'm not sure it could be changed, is, it has no lip whatsoever and the metal is fairly thick so it pours horribly. I occasionally make tea for ice tea in it, and you have to dip out the tea with another cup until the pan is at least less than one-half full. If you try to pour liquid out of the pan with the pan about a half full or more, it will invariably run down the side of the pan and make a mess, no matter how hard you try to be careful. Still, a good, solid cooking pan.

This is a basic, decently made saucepan. It really was my fault for assuming it came with a lid and it doesn't. I bought a glass one from Revere which works perfectly. We have some All-Clad, and this isn't All-Clad. It also doesn't cost anywhere near as much. The teflon coating is fine.

I love the new Calphalon One cookware! This 2-1/2 Qt. saucepan really completes my set (I already have 1 qt. & 4 qt saucepans). I like the glass lids - you can see how things are progressing. The only thing is you need to be careful with the nonstick interior (use only plastic or wood utensils; metal will scratch & lessen the life of your pans). Also, if you want a set to put in the dishwasher, these pans aren't it. They will last much longer if you hand wash them. So, if you want high quality cookware & don't mind hand washing, these are great! If you're more of a purist, go with the Calphalon One set without the nonstick.

These are expensive but you get what you pay for. Take of the nonstick surface by handwashing and this product will perform is advertised. If you have a powerful stove these heavy duty pans hold up. I also love the glass lid.

Several years I ago, I purchased a complete set of Calphalon COMMERCIAL Nonstick cookware with stainless steel lids. Unfortunately, I damaged the 2 1/2 quart pan this year. Apparently my previous line has been discontinued, and the closest replacement I could find was the Calphalon ONE Nonstick. Except for the fact that the Calphalon ONE Nonstick has tempered glass lids, I now wish that all my cookware was the newer Calphalon One. The nonstick surface is even better than the original COMMERCIAL line.

I love this pan, but I have to agree with the other reviewers comment on the glass lid. Food can get into the crack in between the glass and the metal at the edge of the lid. I use a nylon bristle brush after leaving my lid in hot soapy water dith a drop of clorox to get it clean, but I can see how some people would not want the trouble. Luckily, I rarely use the lid in such a way as to get it very messy anyway. The Unison series and the Commercial series from the same company does not have this problem.

Back to the pan, the non-stick surface is very hard, and I have had mine 5 years now and it still looks great. The metal conducts the heat evenly, and the handle does not get hot, depending on how you use it. It is not dishwasher safe and requires hand washing, but it is very easy to wash these pans.

The trouble with this pot is that food eventually works its way between the glass lid and the lid's metal rim. Because of the lid's design, there's no way to remove this food, so it sits there, no doubt forming an excellent growth medium for bacteria. I ended up throwing the pot and lid out.

I've been cooking for 50 years and have tried them all. This is the best line of cookware ever. It has all the right features: can be used in the oven, proper balance, excellent conductivity, totally flat bottoms, great non-stick (both inside and outside), the handles stay cool, just the right weight. However, don't believe the claim that you can use metal utensils. They can be scratched if you don't use wooden, silicone, or plastic utensils. Treat them with care and they'll be your favorite cookware.

I have the 10-piece Circulon Elite set, and purchased this pot to go with that set. It's bigger than the saucepans that come in the set, so it's a nice addition. It's a bit taller and narrower than other saucepans of similar size, which I find helps to balance the pan when it's full and I'm lifting it between the stove and other locations. It heats evenly and it seems to be of good quality.
