"Great saucepan for the price" 2009-07-07

This saucepan is very convenient for everyday use and the glass lid comes in handy too. The handle does not get hot so easily so don't worry.
It is oven safe too up to a certain temperature (I guess 350deg).
The only drawback is being a non-stick pan, it requires special care so as not to scratch the surface with metal spatulas. Use wooden spatulas and you will never have any troubles with this.

I love this saucepan! I have been slowly replacing old pans with Calphalon, which I love too, but I didn't want to pay $30 or more for just a saucepan; this one is wonderful and I loved the price! I read the reviews first and couldn't be happier, easy to clean, feels good in the hand, love the glass lid...I was concerned about the handle, since I often have dermatis on my hand, didn't want something that hurt, cutting into my dry skin, but not this handle, really quite comfortable to hold.
I like it so much, I am thinking of getting another one, just to have on hand.

I was very pleased when this set and pan arrived as looks nice in appearance. A little lighter than other annodized cookware but was sturdy for the price. I was surprised when I used the pan for the first time to warm up some soup using nonscratch utensils made for nonstick cookware and the pan still scratched!!! I read some other reviews in which folks had trouble with the nonstick. I suppose it is like a new car - some just get made on a bad day or are defective from the start. I have not used it since as afraid to ruin it but just sitting on the stove looking pretty doesn't do me much good either! Now, I wish I had just gone with the stainless steel instead of the nonstick as afraid all my pans will do that. Other than the nonstick coating, I do like this pan and set. Clean up was a breeze and cooks evenly etc.. I am just afraid that the set will not last and I'll be looking at having to replace these after minimal use. Seems like right now too the department stores have great deals on cookware that are comparable or better quality for even lower price. If you are familiar with "Silverstone" cookware or "Wearever" brand, these nonstick cuisinarts are just slightly heavier/thicker. This line of cuisinart pans are $10-$15 dollar quality pans and good if you are able to find them for that price. The Chefs Classic Nonstick line is not the same quality of for example calphalon or even the simply calphalon brands. I am rather surprised that they carry the cuisinart name but imagine they developed a lower quality low cost pan to attract customers.

Best pot I've ever had. My sister gave me one of these years ago, and I could cook anything in it without having it stick the way it did to other pots I've had. Just filling it with water and letting it sit a while would loosen any thing that did stick, even hot cereal. Unfortunately, as I eventually often wind up doing, I burned it boiling water. Several times. That will take the Nonstick out of any Nonstick cookware. It took me a while to find a replacement, until I tried Amazon and found one there. Now I use different pots for boiling my water and save this one for the real cooking. For those of you who might be wondering how you burn a pot boiling water, you put a pot of water on the highest setting because you're impatient to get your morning cup of coffee, then while you're waiting for it to boil, but too impatient to stand there watching it, you get distracted by the computer, or the TV, or something, until you start to smell the overheating metal. You then go back to the kitchen to find the bottom of the pot glowing red, and curse your stupidity for forgetting about it, while also congratulating yourself for not putting any thing flammable too close to the stove and burning down the house, which leaves you almost even in the self-esteem department. I might add another thing on the plus side for this pot, is that it doesn't have one of those thick plates attached to the bottom that can melt off given enough heat. I hate when that happens.
